Football is Awesome II

Glory! Victory! The great game of football is on! Pass, pass, dribble, pass shoot score!!! What a goal! We won the world cup! The game is over! If you do not know how to play this spectacular game then this is what you do.

Let's talk about adult foot ball. There's a huge rectangular grass pitch. At each end there is a goal about 6 meters wide and 2 meters high. We're talking about adult adult football ,right? Cool. For adults there are 11 players on the pitch. Two strikers who are at the front of the pitch and try to get the ball in the goal without using their hands. In each goal there is a keeper that can use his hands and is trying to stop the other team from scoring. Also there are 3 defenders who try and help the keeper to stop the other team from scoring without using there hands. There are also 5 midfeilders; centre, left mid and right mid, left wing and right wing.

Spain win the 2012 Football World Cup!

Now lets talk about facts. First, football is the most popular sport in the world and played by almost every country in the world. The last world cup was played in South Africa and was won by Spain. Football world cups started all the way back in about 1940 and is still played today every 4 years. The best team in the world is Brazil, they have won the world cup 5 times! The second best team is Spain because they won the last world cup. Italy are doing well as well they have won it 4 times, 1 behind Brazil.

New Zealand score against Bahrain

New Zealand's team are called the All Whites. They are not doing to well but got into last world cup and did not lose a match. Yes that sounds like they won or something but what actually happened is that they drew every match. Even Spain lost. They lost against Switzerland in the group matches. Otherwise they won every other match. New Zealand won against Bahrain to get into the world cup. It was such a close match and Bahrain even missed a penalty that could have made them in the lead because New Zealand only scored one goal and it was a very good one. A header, that came in from a corner.

Football. My totally favourite sport, and it's a great sport too. Even though we are not such a good soccer country. I'm proud to be in this land. I love the All Whites and I love my football.
