The Australian flag and the New Zealand flag
Anzac Day is a public holiday. It is a day to honour the soldiers who died in World War One. ANZAC is the Australia New Zealand Army Corps, our armed forces. New Zealand and Australia have Anzac Day on the 25th of April every year.

Anzac Day is on the anniversary of Gallipoli. When New Zealand went to fight in World War One, the Great War, they went to Gallipoli in Turkey first. The Anzac soldiers landed at Anzac Cove on the 25th of April, 1915. They fought in Gallipoli from April to December. Many Anzac soldier died at Gallipoli, 8709 Australians and 2721 New Zealanders.

When New Zealand and Australia went to World War One and World War Two it was very sad because people went and never came back.

  1. You include good readable details here. You also include your own feelings about the soldiers going and not returning.
