Remember and Honour Them

By Te Haupai

The Anzacs landed at Anzac Cove (Ari Burnu)
Anzac Day is a public holiday. It's a day to remember and honour soldiers who died in World War One (The Great War). Over 8000 Aussies and 2700 Kiwis died and never fought more. Anzac Day is on the 25th of April every year. It is a New Zealand and Australian holiday.

The Great War happened because some countries were fighting about who would be the most powerful countries in the world. The Anzacs landed in Gallipoli by boat. They tried to knock Turkey out of the war by attacking the Turkish capital. The the battle of Gallipoli went from April to December in 1915. The Anzacs lost.

  1. You have good information in your post Te Haupai. I like a map that shows me where it all happened.
