St John' Madness

Look out, St Johns cadets coming to the rescue!!! We are two experts of St John Nelson divison cadets. Our names are Georgia and Ciarna and we are going to tell you a little bit about St Johns.

We start and end the night with drill. That is when one of the leader yells out, "parade!" and all of the division lines up in three lines which we call racks. Then the leader calls out, "Parade! Parade, 'shun'! Then we all "stand at ease" and the leader calls, "Parade, right dress!" and we look to the right and put our arm out straight in line with the person beside your right shoulder. Then we stand to attention and we march up to the frout of the hall.

There are three groups at St Johns, Green, Blue and Gold. Green group is for 8 to 11 year olds, blue group is for 11 to 14 year olds, and gold group is for 14 to 18 year olds. We're in the green group. Every term we try to earn a merit badge. We have to learn about the badges and do homework before you receive your badges.  You get your Grand Priour after receiving six very important badges!

Every third or fourth night of St Johns we learn a bit of first aid. We remember Danger, Respond, Air way, Breathing and C.P.R,  that stands for Dr ABCs. We learn how to fix broken bones bleeding noses and more.

Every year in June we have competitons at Tea Pot Valley. It includes Blenheim,Richmond,Motowekea and there are more that we cant remember.

  1. Hmm, that drill does not sound too hard. How many badges do you each have?
