Red Poppy Farewell

By Amy

People wear red poppies on Anzac Day to farewell soldiers that died in World War One and World War Two. Red poppies are paper flowers that you cn wear to put on your t-shirt to show that you care and to show your support.

Efforts by MAmerican women Moina Michael led to the American Legion using the red poppy as a symbol to remember veterans who served and died.

I have learnt that Anzac poppies are a way of honouring and respecting soldiers.

  1. This is a good post Amy. I did not know that an American woman started the idea of red poppies.
