On the 26th of March everyone at school had to wear purple or mufti because it is Epilepsy Day. If you wore purple or mufti you had to bring a $1 coin for Epilepsy. Everyone got a purple ribbon to wear to school as well. Epilepsy is a brain injury. A lot of people get Epilepsy.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea for a post Olivia! A little too short and snappy for me (if improving our writing is our goal). You know me, I want to see: imaginative use of language (eg, 'Today Stoke School was a purple sea of mufti wearing students!); the introduction, main ideas and conclusion organised into paragraphs, background information for the reader (what is Epilepsy Day, why purple, what is epilepsy, why do Stoke students support the day, what did you feel about it...?); each main idea supported by relevant details; and a photo would have been the icing on the cake! Sigh! It's hard being a year 6 writer.
