Crazy Soccer.

GOAL! What a score! 3nill to the girls. At Stoke School some of the students play a sport called soccer.

The aim of this game is to kick the round ball into the netted goal. The trick is you aren't aloud to touch the ball with your hands. I play it all the time at school. Soccer is tremendously, phenomenal. There are out of bounds that you are not aloud to cross over. In soccer there are 2 even teams. 1 person in each team has to guard their goal so that the other team doesn't score. The person who is guarding the goal is called a goalie.

I have lost my soccer ultimate professional skills & now it is your time to shine. Now start scoring.

Food For Thought

FOOD, GIVE ME! Na just joking, but that does look quite nice. Gosh, what am I saying. On the 27th of March Rm11 had a session of food for thought will a nutrition lady called Maraweaina. She came so we could learn to know what is good to eat & whats not good to eat.

1st we talked about drinks that has the most sugar & cathien. 2cnd we did a food pyramid so we could put different groups into Eat least, Eat sometimes & Eat most. The different groups we did were Fruit & vegetables, Bread & cereals, Meat & allegation, then last of all it was Milk & dairy. 3rd we did an activity with the cardboard boxes from different types of cereals.

All we had to do was check up on the back of the box & search up sugars, fat total, sodium which is salt & Dilbert fibre. Then last of all we said good bye of coarse. We had a wonderful time with Maraweaina. On the 28th of March rm11 is going to the super market with Maraweaina to see if we can find 3 of the groups of food that were in the different food categories.

I loved doing food for thought. Now I know what to eat & not to eat.

My Birthday!

On the 24th of March it was my birthday. 1st I got a card from my auntie. The present she gave me was a pretty yellow flower necklace & a matching flower ring that went with the necklace. What a perfect match. My 2cnd card was from my mum. The present she gave me was a little Ms Trouble blue watch. I loved it so much. I haven't even opened it because I don't want it to get a scratch & get wrecked of lost. That's how much I love my precious watch. The 3rd card I got was from my grand pop poppy. The present he gave me was a pair of black thick gloves.  I can't wait till my dad gets me a card & a present also my Nana. Me & my brother Joshua are going to join our birthday party's joint together. But we will have to have our birthday party at our house because our car broke down & my mum sold it so we have to use our aunty's van.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME!!!

Party & Dunedin

On Saturday the 24th of March, my mum was going to Dunedin. She wanted to go so she could see our Great Grandad because he was really sick. Mum, my brother Josh and I had to wake up at 6:00am because we had to walk to our Auntys so she could look after me and Josh.

We had to walk to our Auntys because we don't have a car. That's why me and Josh couldn't go to Dunedin with our mum. Walking to Auntys place took about an hour. After we got to Auntys it was round about 8:40 and Mum needed to walk to the airport to be there by 9:05 so she left just as we got there. Before she left we said goodbye and then she left.

When we went into the house it was really noisy. Our auntie has a one year old baby girl called Lily, a three year old boy toddler called Malachai, also a five year old boy called Cameron, who just turned five on the 25th of March, and a 6yr old girl called Akiana. WHAT A FULL HOUSE!

On that very day it was Cameron's birthday party at McDonalds. Me and Josh had to go in one of my auntys friends car because we couldn't fit in her van. When we were at McDonalds all the kids that were at the party went outside and played on the play ground. It took ages for the food to be served out. I ordered a happy meal that had 6 nuggets and a packet of chips. After every one had finished eating it was time to play games then open presents and then eat the cake. It was a funtastic day.

The only thing I don't like most of all is that ..... I miss my mum!

1st fracture

On the 20th of march 2012 I had my 1st fracture at gym. It happened when I did a round off which is just doing a cartwheel but landing with 2 feet, into a back flip with hands & when I landed on the ground I landed with my finger bent backwards really fast. After I did it I couldn't feel anything except pain & pins & needles. It really hurt. The coaches thought it was dis-located & wanted to pull it back into place but I wouldn't let them because I was to scared that would accidentally ingure my finger. So instead they called my mum to pick me up & they suggested her to take me to the hospital just in case to be safe.

When me, mum & my brother joshua went to the hostpital I felt really nervouse because the lady at the counter looked really mean but she ended up to be really nice. After 10 long minutes my friend kayla from gym came to the same nelson hospital because she badly hurt the side of her arm from a roundoff flick flack just before me. The receptionist lady gave me a medical bracelet for when I got an x-ray for the x-ray lady to know who I am. Then a while after Kayla came our gym coach came to see if we were both o.k. After the receptionist lady gave me my medical bracelet she told us to follow the stripped red lines on the ground & it would lead us to the x-ray room. In the x-ray room the x-ray lady pulled a big machine overtop of my hand & took some shots. After we went back to the waiting room. Then after 5 minutes the doctor came out & told us to follow him. He led us to an office & gave us 1 of the x-ray pictures. He also told us that my finger wasn' t dis-located it was just fractured which means part of a bone in my finger was chipped off. Then he bandaged up my hand & taped it then he told me to keep it on for 2 weeks & not go to gym until it is May 2012. On the 23rd of March my finger started to bruise all over my finger & started to turn purple, green & black. It also started to swell up really huge. I hope it gets better.

The day I will never forget!

Whoa! What a blast! Every term Stoke school has a house competition when it is the whole of Stoke school come out & joins together as a big group. There are 4 different house groups & they are:Ngawhatu the Green house,Marsden the Blue house,Songer the Yellow house & Omaio the red house. I'm in the Green house. After we join together as a big group we go into our house colours. On a house day everyone dresses into their house colours so they can get points for their house group to win the magnificent gold trophy. My favourite part was when Ngawhatu did the scavenger hunt with Mr.Logan. It was fantastically sensational.

The reason why my favourite activity was the scavenger hunt with Mr.Logan was because Ngawhatu got to do a quiz and explore the school by counting the stiff wooden planks in the juniour kids playground in the tunnel. My favourite part of the scanveger hunt was when everyone was awnsering the tricky complicated questions.
The worst part was when me & Olivia went to the shade area where the school eats at lunch time to eat so we could count the levels but instead we got muddled up so we had to start all over again & again. House day was a great experiment & a racket with all the noise. I can't wait till the next awesome house day challenge so Ngawhatu can win. GO NGAWHATU!!!

Builders Invading!!!

GET OUT OF THEIR WAY! THE BUILDERS ARE HERE! QUICK RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
Today the builders came to Stoke School to destroy two of the best classrooms, in the school to make it bigger and to make a deck in front of the senior classrooms 10 and 11. They will be here for six long weeks or more. They have put bight orange fences up so that we don't go in there to keep us safe, they have started taking out the wall in room 11, on the rest of the walls they are putting fire proof stuff. We can here banging from two classes away. They are making the classes go out to our cloak bays. Our school is so big now we have to have another classroom so Miss Norris is going to go in to room 9 and Mrs Meeks is going to be another new entrance class in room 4, we now have 220 children in the school now. The builders are going to do rooms 8, 9, 10 and 11. The teachers have shut all the doors in the coridoor so us students can't get in their way of their private, destuctive building.

What a sporty day!!!

The Nelson Weet-Bix Triathlon was held on the 4th of March, in NewZealand. The Weet-Bix Triathlon is a special event which is placed at Tahunanui beach on the south island in NewZealand once in every year. In the Weet-Bix Triathlon you have to swim, bike and run. The Weet-Bix Triathlon is for the age from 7 to 15. 1st you have to swim then you have to bike then run. In the Weet-Bix Triathlon  you either go individual or go with a partner. The cost is $38 if you sign up at home & the cost is $35 if you register up at your school. I signed up at school because it was cheaper. I also teamed up with my friend Toria because I didn't have a bike & she did. I was the one who was swimming. She was the one who was biking & we both ran to the finish line. When I was about to start I was starting to feel nervous and shaky because it was my first time. The swimming was really tough because I kept getting salt in my face, but eventually I made it through. Then I went to tag Toria & then she sped off as fast as the wind blowing past my window. It felt nice. When she came back to me & tagged me I ran 1.5k to the corner, through all the zigzagged cones to meet her so we could run to the finish line so we could both get a gold medal, photo & a drink bottle each. Our time we got for the whole event was 9 minutes & 46 seconds. We were tremendously over joed & had a blast of fun!!!

Good morning new class!!!

On the 14th of March room 11 moved classes to room 9 and room 10 moved to the hall because room 10 and room 11 where getting rebuilt to a bigger size.

When they took out the whiteboards a chalkboard that was used in 1992 was still there, it still has the names on it for their reading. After they took off the whiteboards Shimya and I did a job for Mr Goad which was moving everything from his desk to the room 9 desk. Mr Logan was so jealous because he didn't get to have a desk.

We had to take off all the books in Mr Goads office in room 11 from the shelves and put them in Mr goads new office in room 9. It was a really difficult job even I couldn't bear it but at the end we eventually finished the job. It was easy packing the trolley and wheeling it but then getting it up the steps was hard and un- packing it was really hard.

On the 15th of march the staff were taking off the wallpaper because the builders come on Monday the 19th. When they were taking the wallpaper off their was a hole in the wall that went straight through the wall and Mr Macalpine (the care taker) put a picture of Mr Michener (the school principle) inside the hole and wrote DO NOT LOOK IN HERE!! Everyone thinks its a rat hole. Once they take the wallpaper off they are putting it on the ground like carpet. It took us a little while to get everything sorted because room 9 is a bit smaller than room 11 but Finally we get there! Their were people taking photos in every direction. Marcus and Jontee were taking photos of Shimya and Me all the time. I thought that I would get blind. We would tell them to go away, but they would not listen. BOYS! Don't know when to stop.

The boys drew angry faces on their hands  and put them through the wall. Moving to room 9 was crazy! On the 20th of March the builders had finished taking out the walls from room 10 & 11.
On that very day it was so noisy, from all the banging & smashing. All of the noise even made the wall vibrate & the shakey chairs rattle.

Every one felt crammed in the tiny room. The whole day was very exciting. It was a blast.

Water time!!

On the 8th of  March Nikayla, Amy, Olivia and Shimya went to the swimming inter-schools at Nayland pool to re-present Stoke School. It was a tremendous water blast. The 1st event was Freestyle, 2nd was backstroke then it was breath stroke. After the finals it was the Junior relays then it was the Senior relays. Nikayla came 1st in freestyle in the first heat and then she came 2nd in  the finals. Olivia came 4th in the 1st heats of freestyle but didn't go to the finals. Shimya came 3rd in freestyle but she didn't go through to the finals. In backstroke Olivia came 3rd for the 1st heats and Shimya came 4th in back stroke. Amy came last but unfortunately she didn't make it through to the finals. Better luck next time Amy. Then finally it was time for the Junior girls relay. Shimya's team had a splash of water fun as they crossed the finish line coming 2nd. They wouldn't have come 2nd if it weren't for 1 team being disqualified. Last but not least it was time for Nikaylas team the the Senior girls relay team. Nikayla's team was overjoyed after they had finished the race because they had come 4th. Stoke School did really good at the inter-schools. It was a spraytastic day.

Funny Feeling Freestyle

I'm waiting for the race finnaly Mr.Logan yells out... take your marks! Get set! Bang! He smashes 2 pieces of wood together that makes a loud clingy noise. I do a massive dive into the bright slim swimming pool. My arms start to stretch out in front of me and starts cut through the water. My friend Olivia who I was competing against is just in front of me. I try  to stretch my arms out even further so I could beat Olivia but once I get to halve way I start to get a funny feeling that felt like I was being pinched and the pool would go on and on and on and on. I could see the finish line at the end so I started to kick my legs as hard as I could. Olivia beat me just by 2 seconds. At least I came 2cnd. What a close finish me and Olivia had!

House Day

Every once in a while Stoke School has a house competition. There is Omaio, the red house, Ngawhatu, the green house, Songer, the yellow house, and Marsden, the blue house. I'm in the red house. Yesterday we had a House Fun Day. We got to have a tug of war. It was exciting.

Check out a Ngawhatu's team winning their tug of war in this video.
Owen

You should have seen Miss Kemp when she was wearing a bee costum.  Man it was fun!  House day is cool but it's sad it's only on once a term.  I wish it was on every week because of the screaming and the yelling in my ears.
Cheyenne

Once a term there is a thing called House Day.  There are 4 house groups Omiao is red, Songer is yellow, Nafatu is green and Marsden is blue.  I'm in Songer House.

The best part of House Day was all the noise  there were some people saying, "green will, green will, rock you", "Songer yellow!!!", "blue, blue blue blue!" and, "red stripes!"  It was loud!  Everybody wears there house group today.
Zaria

It all starts after morning tea at Stoke School.  It is the first House Fun Day of the year.  On House Fun Day you dress yourself up in your house colour that the teachers gave us.  The house colours are red (Omaio), blue (Marsden), yellow (Songer) and green (Ngawhatu).  Ngawhatu won (the first year - 2010) and got their name engraved on a trophfy that was made especially.
Ciarna

I am in Omaio Red.  My favourite part of the day was the challenge in the pool.  The pool challenge was in our School pool and we had 4 horses from both teams and I was one of them.  We used big floating seats in the pool and we had to pull as many people as we wanted over to the other side of the pool.
Sarah

Woah!  That was a blast!  Every term we have a House Day when the whole of Stoke School gets out and joins together as a big group.  After we join together we get into our 4 house groups.  Ngawhatu the green house, Omaio the red house, Marsden the blue house and songer the yellow house.  Im in the green house.  Everyone dressed up in there house colour so they could score points for thier house group.  My favourite part was when we did the scavenger hunt with Mr Logan.

Shimya 2012 Style

I am a 9 year old sporty girl. My hair is dark brown and my favourite colour is green. Who am I? That's right, it's me Shimya. My family is important to me because they look after me. I also love animals. I will sometimes play with my cats. My dream is to have a pet monkey that feels like a fluffy cat and has glittery sensational green eyes.

I have a twenty six year old mum called Ramah. She's a fantastic guitarist and is a singer. Mum is also a photographer. I also have a nine year old brother called Joshua. He is an awesome artist plus he can break dance. Every now and then I, Josh and my mum go to the river. Josh and I make our own little pools. To do that we dig out stones from the bottom of the river and then we stack them around the shiny water.

I have two cats called Kutie Pie and Roger. I also have a goldfish called Fishy. Fishy has orange and sparkly gold scales that shine when the sun beams on them which makes a rainbow. He has light brown and grey silky fur. Kutie Pie has dark brown, with light brown, and black streaks on his lovely coated fluffy fur. Kutie Pie always drinks out of the toilet bowl. He is really funny. Roger moults a lot more than Kutie Pie and he always bullies Kutie Pie by hissing at him. Kutie Pie is about three years old, Roger is about the same age as me, and Fishy is fifteen. I love to pat the cats and feed them.

I can't wait till I grow up so I can get as many pets as I want. I would like to get a dog to teach it tricks and call it Poofles. Now that's my life 2012 stylie.
