Cycle Safety Story

Pedle! Pedle! Pedle! Slow down now your getting to the edge now start curving. Throughout these two days a awesome police man came, his name is Constable Garland and he came to teach us about Cycle Safety and how to be safe on the road and on your bike. To go fast and not fall over you have to have safety first. Your helmet has to be not to far ford and not to far back. It has to be ferm and comfterble on your head not ot tight or to light. You have to have apropreate footwear. When your riding you have to be focused and you have to use all your effort when riding so you get better at it. This was all at the front field of our school. My most favourite part of the Day 1 was lerning the road rules are as confusing as red and blue cords.

Kiwis kiwis running down the street,

being chased by prediters ready to eat.

Lucky little kiwis they got away as quick as they can,

But then they noticed they had been taken by a weird man!

They got some sleep and had some worms,

And when they woke up they were in the forest with the ferns!!!

Brainatic Inventions

What was the first invetion you ask your self?Well it is impossible to say but it was probably a sort of tool,such as a stone knife our stone hammer.Early tools were made by chipping away at stone to produce sharp edges,and were they were made to cut meat and clean skins to make clothes.Over thousands of years ago people made speacil stone tools,such as axes and swaws to cut wood,to make bows and to make fire. This is only one and theres a whole heep of them.

The Other Side Of Sunny Nelson

Woosh,Boom,Bang rain falls like a heard of elephants.

Come on rain poor down on us and sook those leaf lease
trees and the poor green grass see if I care.

Gusts of ice cold winds wissle through the trees.

The Searcret SandPit

Every day children think that sandpit is just a sandpit but its not what you think it is, its a big ugly sand monster with an ungly appitite.This big ugly thing is not cool he eats shops,trees and books and thats really weird!I dont think hes a mean sand monster I think hes a good sand monster and just wants a friend and some proper food not trees,shops and books thats just rong but why does he have an ugly appitite.''Mmm''I think it might be all the junk hes been eating and because hes just well sand.I shall make him a silk heart,be his friend and give him proper foods like chicken,fies and fruit and vegtables.''Good morning sand monster I brouhgt a silk heart and some roast and vegtable and I was wondering if you want to be my friend ''Rrrrr'' so I guss thats a yes ''Rrr'' ok you eat up sand monster and ill be back soon ''Rrr Rrr'' okay bye.''Im back sand monster'' where are you sand monster?''SAND MONSTER WHERE ARE YOU!!!!''.I will just ring sand monster then.RING,RING,RING ''rrr rr rrrrr rr rrrr rrrr please take a message after this beep BEEP'' man that gave me a fright.I better go serch for him he might be in great danger. St Johns Madness

Look out St Johns cedets coming to the rescue!!! We are two experts of St John divison cedets in Nelson our names are Georgia and Ciarna and were going to tell you about St Johns.Were in the green group fo St John.

We start and end the night will drill that is when one of the leader yells out parade and all of the divion lines up in three lines which we come call rancks.Then the leader calls out Parade Parade Shion and then we all are standing at ease and then the leader calls Parade right dress and we look to the our right and put our arm up straight in line with the person beside you shoulder then we go to actensoin then we march up to the frout of the hall.

Every term we try to reseve a badge.We have to learn about the badges and do homework before you reseve our badges. There is three groups at St Johns, there are Green Blue and Gold and these are the groups of ages green is 8 to 11,blue is 11 to 14 and gold is 14 to 18. You get your Grand priour after get six very important badges!

Very third or forth night of St Johns we learn a bit of first aid. We remember Danger, Respond, Air way Breathing C.P.R,  that stands for Dr ABCs. We learn how to fix broken bones bleeding nosees and more.


Every year in June we have competitons at Tea Pot Valley. It includes Blenheim,Richmond,Motowekea and there are more that we cant remember.

Long hair,tall,chubby and always a chatta box. Thats me!Kia ora my name is Ciarna.I am an only child I have two great parents and they both love me so much.My family is huge some of them live in the North Island in New Zealand.
Some of my family live in Austrailia. Most of my family lives in Okiwi Bay in the South Island.

Fishing is what we love to do as a familyin Okiwi Bay and at Nelson Port.Once when we went fishing on the gleming blue water catching slimey cold cod.They are really smelly grose.My uncle guts them and cleans them so we can have them for dinner.

House Day

Every once in a while Stoke School has a house competition. There is Omaio, the red house, Ngawhatu, the green house, Songer, the yellow house, and Marsden, the blue house. I'm in the red house. Yesterday we had a House Fun Day. We got to have a tug of war. It was exciting.

You should have seen Miss Kemp when she was wearing a bee costum.  Man it was fun!  House day is cool but it's sad it's only on once a term.  I wish it was on every week because of the screaming and the yelling in my ears.

Once a term there is a thing called House Day.  There are 4 house groups Omiao is red, Songer is yellow, Nafatu is green and Marsden is blue.  I'm in Songer House.

The best part of House Day was all the noise  there were some people saying, "green will, green will, rock you", "Songer yellow!!!", "blue, blue blue blue!" and, "red stripes!"  It was loud!  Everybody wears there house group today.

It all starts after morning tea at Stoke School.  It is the first House Fun Day of the year.  On House Fun Day you dress yourself up in your house colour that the teachers gave us.  The house colours are red (Omaio), blue (Marsden), yellow (Songer) and green (Ngawhatu).  Ngawhatu won (the first year - 2010) and got their name engraved on a trophfy that was made especially.

On Wensday 15th Feb it was House Day.  We have four house colers red, blue,green, yellow.  House Day is when we play gams in the pool on the feald on the cort.  In the pool we did lilo relay races.  on the feald we did a scavenger Hunt and water relay.  On the cort we did a Blind Fold game.  My faverit one was the races in the pool.  after all the gams and Rellays we Had tug of war game all four Houses did tug of war.

I am in Omaio Red.  My favourite part of the day was the challenge in the pool.  The pool challenge was in our School pool and we had 4 horses from both teams and I was one of them.  We used big floating seats in the pool and we had to pull as many people as we wanted over to the other side of the pool.

Woah!  That was a blast!  Every term we have a House Day when the whole of Stoke School gets out and joins together as a big group.  After we join together we get into our 4 house groups.  Ngawhatu the green house, Omaio the red house, Marsden the blue house and songer the yellow house.  Im in the green house.  Everyone dressed up in there house colour so they could score points for thier house group.  My favourite part was when we did the scavenger hunt with Mr Logan.
